About IMS

Most contractors know maintenance or sanitation.
IMS was founded on fifteen years of doing both.

Industrial Maintenance & Sanitation LLC self-performs high-risk maintenance and industrial sanitation for food and beverage manufacturers nationwide — one accountable contractor for the work, the cleaning, and the documentation.

The founder

Two careers. One company.

Matthew Holcombe spent fifteen years inside food manufacturing plants — roughly half of it in maintenance, half in sanitation. On the maintenance side, that meant preventive maintenance, process improvement, and sanitary equipment design. On the sanitation side, it meant hands-on plant cleaning and sanitizing, quality and food safety systems, audit preparation, and writing the policies and procedures that plants actually run on.

"I spent half my career fixing the equipment and the other half sanitizing it. Most contractors know one side. Your plant needs both."

That dual background is the company's founding premise: a rebuild done without sanitary design in mind creates the harborage point that fails your next swab. A deep clean done without mechanical knowledge puts water where it destroys a bearing. IMS exists so plants don't have to choose between a contractor who understands the machine and one who understands the audit.

How we work

Four rules we don't bend.

01

Self-perform first

Our own crews do the core work. A vetted subcontractor network extends our reach — it never replaces our accountability.

02

Document everything

Scope in writing before work starts. Records in your hands when it ends. If it isn't documented, it didn't happen.

03

GMP conduct, every floor

Food-safety behavior is trained, not assumed. Our crews work to your plant's GMP rules from the first minute on site.

04

Safety before mobilization

Written programs aligned with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 — confined space, LOTO, hot work, fall protection — govern the task before a crew ever arrives.

Where we're headed

The next decade of plant maintenance belongs to contractors whose data is as dependable as their work.

IMS is investing in modern, data-driven field operations — so every service visit leaves your facility with a better asset history than it had before. The direction is ambitious. The discipline behind it is already how we work today.

HOW WE OPERATE TODAY

  • Written scopes & documented procedures
  • Structured maintenance & service records
  • Audit-ready documentation discipline
